Behind every number is a person. Some are waiting for a life-saving or life-enhancing transplant.
Others celebrate the gift of life they have received. Our mission is to change the numbers, by increasing the number of organ and tissue donors, ultimately saving more lives.

Last year, 922 organs were transplanted. So far this
year, the generosity of Michigan donors has led to 370 transplants and saved numerous lives.

Every day hundreds of people in our state are in need of
other tissues such as heart valves, veins, tendons, bone, and corneas in order to survive or maintain their quality of life.

The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) data reports, by clicking http://www.optn.org/latestData/viewDataReports.asp. UNOS collects and manages all data that pertain to the patient waiting list, organ donation and  matching, and transplantation occurring on the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), the nation's organ transplant network.

The US Transplant -- Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) data reports, by clicking www.ustransplant.org.  Every six months, the SRTR publishes updated reports on activities at each transplant center and organ recovery organization in the United States. These reports include statistics about organ donation and recovery, waitlist activity (such as transplant rate) and post transplant outcomes (such as patient survival rates).
